Saturday night was a two-fer for the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Sugar Skulls.
Not only did the Sugar Skulls take down the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Rattlers 50-47 in comeback fashion to beat their in-state rival for the second time this season, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ won its first-ever triple-overtime game in franchise history.
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ trailed 21-9 at halftime, but rallied to beat the Rattlers at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. It’s the first time the Sugar Skulls beat the Rattlers in Glendale since 2023.
The Sugar Skulls’ triumph snapped ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s (4-6) three-game losing streak. The Rattlers (7-4), the defending IFL champions, are now on a three-game losing streak following the setback to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥.
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ won the regular-season series against the Rattlers for the first time in franchise history. The Sugar Skulls are 4-11 against the Rattlers since joining the IFL in 2019.

The Sugar Skulls started the second half on Saturday with a touchdown pass from quarterback Jorge Reyna to wide receiver Tripp Harrington and two rushing touchdowns from running back Davonte Sapp-Lynch.

Sapp-Lynch tied the game 34-34 with his third rushing touchdown of the night after ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ defensive lineman Tre Henry caused a turnover with a strip-sack of Rattlers quarterback Dalton Sneed.
After the first two overtime periods, Sugar Skulls running back and defensive back Jamyest Williams intercepted Sneed — his second of the night — to set up kicker Kevin Macias, who missed two field goals on Saturday, for the game-winning field goal to win 50-47.
Earlier in the season, Macias made a go-ahead 36-yard field goal with a second left in the Sugar Skulls’ win over the Rattlers in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥, a game the Sugar Skulls trailed by two touchdowns.
After snapping its three-game losing streak, the Sugar Skulls (4-6) return to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ for back-to-back home games against the Northern ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Wranglers (1-10) and Vegas Knight Hawks (6-5).
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ will face Northern ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ on Saturday, June 21 at 6:05 p.m.
