Pima Animal Care Center is waiving adoption fees on its 700 adoptable pets this weekend as part of a national campaign to clear the shelters.
On Saturday and Sunday, there will be no adoption fees for all shelter pets, with an $18 standard licensing fee for adult dogs, according to a PACC news release.
This is the third year PACC is partnering with Telemundo as part of the 鈥淐lear the Shelters鈥 campaign spearheaded by NBCUniversal, that aims to match shelter pets with permanent homes. Since NBC expanded the campaign to a national level in 2015, more than 70,000 pets have been adopted, the release said.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to be part of this effort, which not only brings national recognition to our shelter pets, but also reaches out to our entire community, reminding them that we have many deserving dogs, cats, puppies and kittens waiting for their forever homes,鈥 said PACC Director Kristen Auerbach.
