More Mexican baseball is coming to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥.
Two teams from the Mexican Pacific Winter League — Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, or LAMP — will be playing a regular-season series Nov. 1-3 at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Yaquis de Obregon will face Aguilas de Mexicali in the inaugural cross-border International Series. Start times are 7:10 p.m. Friday, 6:10 Saturday and 5:10 Sunday.
Kino Stadium has hosted the Mexican Baseball Fiesta for the past several years. This series will mark the first time regular-season LAMP games have been played in the United States.
“A lot of people in the United States don’t understand that the Mexican Winter League has really good talent,†Mike Feder, president of the Mexican Baseball Fiesta, said in a news release. “We feel honored that the Yaquis are giving us that opportunity to showcase that talent in a regular-season series.
