This "initiative" is straight from the Democrat's playbook. Soak the rich as they never pay enough. I am not within the $250,000+ realm of the proposal, but I oppose it just out of fairness. Most home owners already pay upwards of $1,000 in combined school related county property taxes. Higher earners likely have more expensive homes and pay higher school supporting property taxes. Would it not a better, fairer, and more equal idea to tax apartment and house renters? Many have children in public schools. There are some current minimal "renter's taxes" but they vary widely by location, and some pay none. Why not have a dedicated state "renter's tax" for school funding?
A recent survey showed a majority of "educators" being Democrats and voted for Clinton. Only 29% identified as conservatives. Educator's" unions are operated by Democrats and actively support Democrat political candidates.
