A man is facing aggravated assault in connection to a Monday night incident when he pointed a gun at shoppers at a crowded Walmart market on ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥'s east side, police said.
William Gutierrez, 62, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and disorderly conduct, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Police Department spokeswoman.
Gutierrez was booked into the Pima County jail.
No shots were fired and no one was injured in the Sept. 25 incident, at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, 8640 E. Broadway, located west of South Camino Seco, Bay said.
Prior to the man's arrival at Walmart, he was seen shortly after 6 p.m. walking around at an apartment complex, 77 N. Camino Seco, waving a gun and pointing it at people, said Bay.
Officers, along with police dogs, arrived at Walmart within minutes after receiving a report of a man with a gun inside the market waving and pointing the gun at shoppers, Bay said. Officers detained Gutierrez without incident.
