Some of the governor's budget changes could end up hurting the very children the PTA is working to protect, group's leader says.

Gov. Doug Ducey is hoping to fund part of his teacher pay package through a new form of gambling that may be illegal under ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ law.

Calling the governor's pay proposal inadequate, leaders of the #RedForEd movement scheduled a vote this week to decide by Friday whether to strike.

But if ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ teachers do decide to walk — voting has begun and a decision is due Friday — it appears they will be acting illegally.

The housing and retail project would be located at the southern end of Fourth Avenue at Eighth Street and Stevens Avenue on the west.

The legislation seeks to keep family pets from where they don't belong and can result in a fine of up to $250 per incident.
