Between the gigantic party of Scottsdale’s WM Phoenix Open early next month, spring training baseball starting in late February and ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s Cologuard Classic PGA tourney in March, marquee names in rock, pop and country are set to descend on the Grand Canyon State to entertain sports fans.

It all starts on the greens of , which becomes party central on Feb. 3 when Post Malone takes the stage on the iconic 16th hole for the WM Phoenix Open kick-off Concert in the Coliseum. The concert comes two days before the Open opens.

Some 70,000 people are expected to attend the WM Phoenix Open Feb. 5-11 at the TPC Scottsdale, 17020 N. Hayden Road. Hence the event’s nicknames the “Peoples Open� and “The Greatest Show on the Grass.�

Malone’s show, which is sold out, is the appetizer for the tournament’s musical main course, the four-night Coors Light Birds Nest festival Feb. 7-10, also held on the TPC course. Headliners include Hardy and Bailey Zimmerman Feb. 7 (general admission sold out, VIP available); Dierks Bentley and Mitchell Tenpenny Feb. 8; Duran Duran Feb. 9; and Kygo with Sam Feldt Feb. 10.

General admission for the Birds Nest festival is $140-$175, with VIP tickets starting at $325 through .

Spring training

Major League Baseball opens its Cactus League spring training in the Phoenix area with the star-studded Innings Festival Feb. 23-24 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Greta Van Fleet and Jimmy Eat World. The fun continues the next weekend, March 1-2, with the somewhat country-leaning Between Innings Festival with headliners Chris Stapleton, Elle King, Dave Matthews Band and Sheryl Crow. Both events are at Tempe’s Beach Park & Arts Park, 80 W. Rio Salado Parkway.

The Innings festival features 18 acts on three stages, food vendors and baseball legends interacting with fans. Two-day general admission tickets start at $310 through .

Cologuard Classic

Sonoita native and Salpointe Catholic High School grad Mark Wystrach is bringing his throwback-to-the-’70s country band to his hometown to headline the golf tournament concert on March 8 at Rillito Park, 4502 N. First Ave.

The concert comes midway through the Cologuard Classic March 3-10 at the neighboring La Paloma Country Club and Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, 3660 E. Sunrise Drive and 3800 E. Sunrise.

Midland will share the stage with ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ indie rockers and ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s own and . Tickets are $45 general admission, $150 VIP through .
